The Teaching Style and Method of CCMM
At Calvary Chapel Meadow Mesa, it is our goal to utilize, in every church service and bible study, the "tried, tested and fruitful" method of instruction, called, "Inductive Bible Study." This is the method utilized in almost every Calvary Chapel you will find. From the beginning of the "Jesus Movement Revival" that began in the mid 1960's and continues to this day, this is the method you will find in place.
Pastor Chuck Smith, one of the key leaders in that "movement" began the Calvary Chapel in the mid 1960's. He implemented this method of instruction because of the way it exposed people to large portions of the bible on a weekly basis. The method provided significant results as his fledgling church of 25 people grew to a church of over 1200 within a year. It seemed, to all who were there to witness the growth, that the Lord blesses the reading and teaching of His word.
Pastor Chuck was used by the Lord to reach many of the "outcast" counter culture, hippies and surfers of that era. It became very clear that this overlooked people group had a huge hunger for something more than the day to day life of anti-establishment rebellion. As these people were instructed and discipled in God's plan for mankind, and as they learned to replicate the discipleship style of Jesus, they stepped forth in faith with the result being over 1400 Calvary Chapels throughout the world, not to mention the myriad of missionary training bases with individuals and families who serving the Lord throughout the world.
The "Inductive Bible Study" method is the style of instruction you will find at Calvary Chapel Meadow Mesa.
